Band 5 Staff Nurse needed
We have an excellent opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join us on Kent Ward, the vascular unit for the trust, within the Surgical Services Division at this highly respected hospital.
Kent Ward is a 20-bedded inpatient acute vascular unit plus 6 trolleys which are used for elective day case admissions Monday to Friday. We will soon be expanding as we become the vascular arterial centre for Kent. Our patients are both elective and emergency admissions and the ward is busy, exciting and rewarding and provides an excellent nursing experience. Our patient turnover is high and discharge planning is paramount to our success, therefore team playing, multi-disciplinary working and communication skills are essential.
As a team we are committed to teaching and work hard to provide a positive learning environment. We provide ward based study days for all grades the subject matter being closely linked to the needs and wishes of those involved. The current team are hardworking and committed to providing a high standard of care; we manage to continue with a fun atmosphere, good peer support and a great social network.
We are looking for people who have some previous experience of working in the specialty, but we also encourage applications from newly qualified nurses or those from other health care environments and will support and develop you to reach your full potential as a highly skilled and experienced nurse.
If required, we will provide you with a structured Preceptorship programme to enable development of skills across patient pathways, and access to development opportunities with our excellent links with the Canterbury University.
